Rights and Responsibilities

This course will ask you to explore the convention of the rights of the child and this charter as is applied around the world.

You will examine where children experiencing hardship and where their human rights are being ignored. 

Finally you will examine different case studies from around the world. For example, examining long-term issues of child soldiers in Kurdistan as well as current issues such as Covid-19.

Learning Objectives:

To explore the UN Convention of the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).
To identify and describe locations where children face hardship and where their human rights are being ignored.  
To consider how international organisations and governments can act to protect children’s rights.
